Greenovate Ltd brings together a network of companies and experts in the field of eco-innovation with the aim of providing value added services for the development of state of the art environmental projects. Utilising the long-term practical experience of our team, we work with private and public clients across the whole project cycle to produce sustainable and investable projects.

CHARALAMBOS PANAYIOTOU - DIRECTOR

Charalambos is an environmental management consultant with more than twenty years of experience in Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental legal compliance and environmental resources management. He is the managing director of Atlantis Environment and Innovation and executive director of Envirochem Cyprus. Among others he has collaborated with the public sector for strategy development in such fields as air quality, water resources, desertification, biodiversity and sustainable mining. For the private sector he has supported environmental permitting and legal compliance across sectors such as waste to energy and biomass to energy plants, PV plants, marinas, industry, golf courses and others. Currently he is the president of Greenovate! Europe.

Driven by a passion for reconciling economic growth with environmental sustainability, Charalambos is particularly active in the field of innovation management and technology brokerage. Among others, he has participated in feasibility studies and project development for innovative environmental projects, with emphasis on waste to energy both in Cyprus and abroad. Bringing together practical experience in environmental management and legal compliance issues of the industrial sector, and knowhow of regulatory and market drivers he participates in EU funded projects leading the Exploitation and Business strategy development aspect of projects. He has participated in a wide variety of programmes such as H2020, LIFE+, INCO-MPC, LEONARDO, Europe Innova, FP7-Regions and others.

ASTRID SEVERIN - DIRECTOR

Astrid has more than 25 years of experience in business development and access to public funding. With three university degrees under her belt (MA in Renewable Energy, MBA and MA in Modern Languages) and an ample career in the private sector as well as in the European Commission she gained insight into a host of different institutional contexts and led many multinational teams. Astrid is specialised in green innovation and regional development with a strong focus on renewable energy and the circular economy. As entrepreneur, Astrid started up the European expert group Greenovate! Europe as well as two private consultancies. Today, she develops waste management and renewable energy projects at international level and is an experienced business plan developer.

In addition, her work as Senior Consultant at Saatchi & Saatchi Business Communications allowed her to build an excellent track record in corporate communication. Astrid is lead Author of several studies in waste management, cluster development, entrepreneurship, renewable energy and energy efficiency in buildings. Since 2019 she also advises regions and local authorities on topics related to resource efficiency and environment on behalf of the INTERREG EUROPE programme.

KATHARINA KRELL - DIRECTOR

Katharina is a senior expert in sustainable energy and circular economy with >20 years of professional experience, among which 17 years in executive management roles. With a Master in Renewable Energy, a Master in Business Administration and a University degree in International Relations, she is well equipped to tackle the technological, socio-economic and legal issues related to innovative waste and energy solutions.

As a seasoned entrepreneur, she started up two private companies and one European Economic Interest Group (Greenovate! Europe) and grew them into profitable businesses with satisfied, returning clients. She started her career with the German public development service (GIZ/CIM) at the International Network on Small Hydropower in Hangzhou, China and went on to serve as Secretary General of the Brussels-based European association of 50 top renewable energy research centres, EUREC Agency.

Katharina has specialised in renewables, waste management and recycling technologies and how these technologies can be transferred into a different regional and local context. She is currently working on business plans for several waste treatment projects.  She is lead author and co-author of several studies on resource efficiency and renewable energy as well as conference papers on innovative waste management. Katharina is also a Senior Expert of Interreg EUROPE Policy Learning Platform on Low Carbon Economy and an evaluator for the European Commission.

BARBORA ANIFTU - DIRECTOR

Barbora is a seasoned expert in international business and knows how to structure participations in project companies.

Barbora is experienced in research project design, management and reporting where she coordinated and supervised fieldwork abroad (mainly in Central European countries and Russia). Moreover, she also has a very good track record in managing and executing marketing initiatives, logistics management and product handling as well as demand forecast and inventory management.
